Sir Jim Ratcliffe names the one Man United manager he would NEVER have hired

A manager that Sir Jim Ratcliffe would never have hired to manage Manchester United has been named by the club’s chairman.

In 2013, after leading Manchester United to victory in the Premier League, legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson announced his retirement.

During his tenure as manager, Ferguson guided the Red Devils to a number of victories, including thirteen league championships and two participations in the Champions League.

Nevertheless, ever since the Scotsman quit his position, United has had a difficult time competing at the highest level.

David Moyes, Jose Mourinho, Louis van Gaal, and Erik ten Hag are just some of the managers who have attempted to bring glory back to Old Trafford, but they have all been unsuccessful.

Ratcliffe, chief executive officer of INEOS and co-owner of United Football Club, recently gave an interview in which he singled out Moyes as the individual he would not have chosen to succeed Ferguson.

“Look, I like David Moyes, and I think he’s a really good manager, but to go from Sir Alex Ferguson to Moyes is not where I would have gone,” he said in an interview with The Times.

“Moyes took over for Ferguson, who had won the Premier League thirteen times and the Champions League twice. Then you’re handing over the reins to a man who has never managed big players and had never won anything,” said Moyes. “Moyes has never won anything.” It is not necessarily the case that he possesses the personality to stand in front of all of them.

Ratcliffe continued by saying, “However, I do not believe that Real Madrid would have chosen that individual to be their coach.” When it comes to coaches, it is impossible for a club to get it right every time. However, given that Manchester United is the best club in the world, they should have been able to find the best chief executive in the world as well as the best coach in the world. On the contrary, they found both of those choices to be incorrect.

Over the course of his tenure as manager of United, Moyes oversaw a total of 51 matches, winning 27, drawing nine, and losing 15.

Everton, the Scotsman’s former club, defeated him by a score of 2-0 in April 2014, which ultimately led to his dismissal from his position. Before Van Gaal took over permanently, Moyes was temporarily replaced by Ryan Giggs under the leadership of Van Gaal.
