In his time at Manchester United, Ronaldo was coached by Sir Alex Ferguson. During his time with the Scotsman, Ronaldo made 291 appearances across all competitions, scored 118 goals, and won nine trophies.
Messi spent the bulk of his best years with Barcelona, where he made 778 appearances, scored 672 goals, and won an astonishing 35 trophies. The Portuguese striker went on to achieve glory at numerous other teams during his career, but Messi spent the majority of his prime years with Barcelona.
On the other hand, Ferguson continues to maintain his conviction that his former star is distinct from Messi for a particular reason.
