Simon Jordan lays into Gary Neville for ‘absurd’ Man Utd vs Tottenham commentary on Sky Sports

Manchester United great Gary Neville was on commentary for Sky Sports during the Red Devils’ 3-0 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday, and his in-game comments infuriated Simon Jordan.

Simon Jordan has chastised Gary Neville for his ‘absurd’ remarks following Manchester United’s 3-0 defeat to Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur talents Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski, and Dominic Solanke scored goals to humiliate United at home. But it was the manner of United’s 10-man defeat that enraged Neville, who labeled their performance as ‘absolutely disgraceful’.

The Red Devils have now lost back-to-back Premier League home games 3-0, including against archrivals Liverpool, putting manager Erik ten Hag at risk of losing his job. Despite the gravity of the situation, Jordan chastised Neville for the ‘language’ he used when commentating for Sky Sports.

On talkSPORT, former Crystal Palace owner Jordan said that our purpose seemed to be to continuously berate Ten Hag. I listen to Gary Neville’s analysis, and the language he uses is ludicrous.

“It is not a nasty performance; it is a lousy one. But when you have Manchester United fans, who are the first to become irritated if anyone else mentions anything about Manchester United, going full throttle on the nature of performance… It was a disappointing performance against a strong Tottenham team. It wasn’t gross. It wasn’t an abomination. You understand, it’s ludicrous.”

Neville’s most scathing remark came immediately after captain Bruno Fernandes was sent off for a controversial red card. “It is not as bad as I initially thought,” he stated about the difficulty. “But it sums up Manchester United’s first half, which has been an absolute disgrace.” It’s one of the worst performances I’ve seen from Ten Hag, which is saying something. It’s extremely awful.
