Shortly after Celtic’s victory at Firhill, Brendan Rodgers gives an explanation of his behaviour towards Colby Donovan.

Celtic’s right-back injury woes appeared to have helped Colby Donovan.

After missing Scotland’s games for the September international break, Anthony Ralston followed suit shortly after Alistair Johnston, who has been sidelined since the end of August.

Donovan, a young player from the academy, has been able to start more games as a result, and it’s safe to assume that he is taking advantage of the opportunities Brendan Rodgers has given him.

Donovan made another strong showing in the senior colours as Celtic defeated Partick Thistle on Sunday to go to the League Cup final four.

Colby Donovan is pushed by Brendan Rodgers towards Celtic supporters following their victory over Partick Thistle.

The Celtic players and coaching staff approached the away fans to congratulate them and give them applause after the game.

After shaking hands with a number of the players, Rodgers approaches Donovan, pulls his arm, and shoves him in the direction of the spectators.

The small child would have loved it, especially since he was a Celtics fan as a boy.

Rodgers’ remarks regarding Donovan

In his post-match interview with Premier Sports, Rodgers praised Donovan, discussed his personality off the pitch, and explained why he shoved him in the direction of the supporters.

The Celtic manager clarified that he “isn’t frightened” and that he has the “feeling” that his own supporters value him.

“He’s excellent,” Rodgers remarked. “I adore his character. You see how he protects throughout his entire game as a player.

However, he has skill with the ball. I’ve been so happy for him since he doesn’t fear anything.

“You finally make it, and you’ve been waiting your entire life for that moment.” You consider it. It has been in your dream.

“So, it will give him a little boost with the supporters to give him that feeling.”
