Sheikh Jassim, a Qatari politician, has disclosed his intentions to acquire Manchester United after failing to do so two years ago. The 66-year-old previously attempted to buy the Red Devils for £4.5 billion in 2023, but was unsuccessful because Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS were able to reach an agreement instead.
Two years hence, many fans will wish Sheikh Jassim had purchased United. He had a lot of fascinating ideas about how to get the team back to being one of the greatest in the world. It has now been disclosed whether he would be interested in making another bid for the club, as their share price has dropped dramatically following a disastrous season under Ruben Amorim.

Sheikh Jassim Isn’t Interested in Buying Man United Anymore
He has no plans to make another bid
Despite bidding roughly £4.5 billion to acquire United, Sheikh Jassim lost out to Ratcliffe, who paid nearly £1.25 billion to buy a stake of the club instead. The process ended on a sour note for Qatar’s former Prime Minister, and according to the Daily Mail, his encounters with the Glazers have put him against buying the Red Devils again. Instead, he is pleased as is and will not make any further bids for the side.
He and the Qatar group he led will not renew their interest, despite United’s share price plunging by 17% following this season’s disastrous campaign. United finished 15th in the Premier League, their lowest-ever finish, and lost the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur.
