Henrik Pedersen is reportedly looking into the possibilities of loan agreements for two Manchester United players as Sheffield Wednesday looks to bolster their aging roster. The Premier League team is also thrilled with the experience that young defender Harry Amass is gaining at Hillsborough under very trying circumstances, and the Championship team has shortlisted the Under-21s pair of Gabriele Biancheri and Victor Musa, according to Red Devils-based news outlet United In Focus. In fact, the Steel City team is firmly anchored to the bottom of the second division, and their chances of playing in League One for the first time since 2022–2023 has increased when controversial former owner Dejphon Chansiri put Wednesday into administration last month. With 31 league games left, Pedersen’s team is currently on -4 points, about 17 points out of safety. As a result, the EFL automatically deducted 12 points from the club. To their credit, if such punishments had been implemented, Wednesday would only be a single point better than Norwich City, who are currently in turmoil due to several factors following the firing of Liam Manning over the weekend. Having previously been unable to do so because of a number of embargoes pertaining to transfers or registration, Pedersen has made it clear that he would love to add more bodies to an incredibly light team. Begbies Traynor, the club’s administrator, is still in discussion about the potential of attempting to sign free agents as soon as feasible. However, as seen by the agreements that brought Amass and Ethan Horvath to S6 from United and Cardiff City, respectively, loan agreements are still possible.
Sheffield Wednesday target loan swoops for Manchester United’s Gabriele Biancheri and Victor Musa

The Owls are attempting to plan forward on this front as the January window approaches, but naturally, takeover negotiations continue to be the club’s prime focus. In recent days, a number of free agents, including Andy Rinhomota, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, and Liam Cooper, have been connected to a possible move to South Yorkshire. But there is still no formal word on when the three—and possibly more—will have their moves to the club approved. As previously said, Wednesday has only been able to bring in temporary players during the incredibly turbulent first three months of the Championship season, with two of them filling in goal. Following an injury to Pierce Charles in August, Horvath’s skills were considered essential, and Joe Lumley took Horvath’s position for two games while the American was suspended for one game because of a “emergency loan” deal with Bristol City. Due to Wednesday’s ongoing financial difficulties, Ruben Amorim’s team is paying for every part of the agreement, which means that the aforementioned Amass is the only outfield arriving. Biancheri and Musa are rumored to be joining their Old Trafford teammate across the Pennines in January as Pedersen attempts to increase his attacking output. The bottom team in the division has only scored nine goals in 15 Championship games. Welsh youth international Biancheri has made seven Premier League 2 appearances for United’s Under-21 team this season, scoring four goals. He has also played in EFL Trophy matches against Lincoln City, Barnsley, and Notts County.
Musa, who was born in Spain, has made four appearances in the Premier League so far. He also entered as a substitute during Sheffield Wednesday’s 3-0 loss to the Imps at the LNER Stadium in September. Despite Harry Amass’s advances, it is evident that the two teams share a close bond.
Given that United is obviously impressed with Amass’s growth in South Yorkshire after just two months of his loan stay, the aforementioned loan swoops cannot be completely ruled out. The 18-year-old, who is naturally a defender, has been used in an advanced role due to Pedersen’s three-back system, demonstrating his ability to contribute both offensively and defensively. He was rewarded with his first senior goal during the Owls’ 3-1 loss at Southampton last time out. Similar to their youthful colleague, this would be Biancheri and/or Musa’s first loan period away from Old Trafford. Given Wednesday’s current situation, where the team is trying to add stability and momentum in preparation for an impending League One campaign, it would only increase their chances of being included in Amorim’s long-term plan.
