WE ARE GOING TO: In order to raise money for Dix’s upcoming new signing, the owner of Manchester United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, has given his approval for the sale of Kobbie Mainoo and three other former players.
There is not a lot of money available for Manchester United to spend in January, but they have selected three players they want to acquire if they are able to make deals.
The Red Devils are prohibited from spending a lot of money during the forthcoming transfer window according to the Profit and Sustainability Rules, unless there are exits from the club.
It is feasible, given that players such as Marcus Rashford are currently available for purchase and have the potential to bring in substantial sums of money.
However, until some exits are achieved, it is unlikely that United will have a busy month in the transfer market, as manager Ruben Amorim has conceded. This is because United is still in the process of securing some exits.
Amorim stated, following the team’s loss to Newcastle on Monday, that “we do not have that possibility in January…” However, it is not the case that I will be arriving here and will be able to spend a significant amount of money on altering all of the team.
There is not much use in discussing the situation because you are aware of it.
However, we will discuss it because Manchester United has not yet compiled a list of players they want to acquire in the event that they end up establishing a transfer budget for themselves.
Amorim collaborated with Nuno Mendes at Sporting before he moved to France, and the Daily Mail believes that he is the most prominent of those targets. Mendes plays a left back for Paris Saint-Germain.
PSG are interested in extending the 22-year-old player’s contract until 2026, but sources in France claim that he is eager to go on to other opportunities. The player has 33 caps for Portugal and is currently under contract until 2026.
The left-back has been valued at £46 million, and Paris Saint-Germain is not in a hurry to sell him. As a result, it will be difficult to make a deal in January.
United is also interested in signing Victor Osimhen, who is now playing for Galatasaray on loan from Napoli. However, at this time, United is unable to acquire his services.
Napoli has a clause in the loan agreement that allows them to recall the prolific attacker in January and sell him if they receive a suitable bid. However, in order for the Red Devils to be able to pull that off, they would need to make some big sales.
Senne Lammens, a goalkeeper for Antwerp who has apparently been scouted by Manchester United, would be a considerably less noteworthy departure from the club.
Should Altay Bayindir, the current backup goalkeeper, decide to depart in January in quest of regular first team play somewhere, the 22-year-old has emerged as a potential replacement for Bayindir.
Since joining the Red Devils in September 2023, the Turkey international has only made four appearances for the club. In his most recent match, which was a quarterfinal match in the Carabao Cup versus Spurs, United was defeated by Spurs by a score of 4-3.
