“Abdullah Almutairi Resigns as Head Coach of Nepal’s National Football Team Due to Disagreement with Senior Vice-President of ANFA”
The men’s national football team head coach of Nepal, Abdullah Almutairi, has decided to step down from his role. Almutairi gave his resignation as a result of continuing disagreements with Pankaj Numbing, the senior vice-president of the All-Nepal Football Association (ANFA), in a statement that was shared on Facebook. He said that he was frustrated with the state of affairs and that Nambung’s behavior during the previous three weeks had rendered his position untenable.
Almutairi, who was named head coach in April 2021, captained Nepal in World Cup qualifying matches. But his disagreement with the senior leadership of ANFA has caused him to leave the team.
