Following Liverpool’s 4-2 victory over Newcastle United, Dominik Szoboszlai became the sixth player to be sidelined, adding to Jurgen Klopp’s mounting issues.

Liverpool overcame Newcastle United 4-2 at Anfield to begin 2024 on a high note and go three points clear at the top of the Premier League. However, the victory may have come at a cost.
After the game, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp admitted that midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai was injured. Klopp said, “We wanted to take him off.” It was the plan, but he felt his hamstring in the last scenario, so he was running a minute behind schedule.
Naturally, we are ignorant of its full breadth at the moment. We must take our time.
Liverpool didn’t need it, given Stefan Bajcetic and Thiago Alcantara’s continued marginalisation, and because Wataru Endo will miss a lot of games due to his involvement in Japan’s Asian Cup, which he leads as midfield captain. The famous Mohamed Salah, who scored twice in the Reds’ win over Newcastle before joining Egypt for the Africa Cup of Nations, has also left the team.
