Manchester United had a busy summer transfer window. At the time of writing, the Red Devils had made four transfers: Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Diego Leon.
Victor Lindelof, Christian Eriksen, and Jonny Evans left the club after their contracts expired, while Marcus Rashford was loaned out to Barcelona.
With United spending well over £200 million this summer and recouping nothing from outgoings, the club must continue to sell players in order to balance the books. Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Alejandro Garnacho look set to go in the next weeks, with Amorim thinking them all surplus to requirements.
Rasmus Hojlund’s future is also very uncertain. The Danish striker, who was signed for £72 million in 2023, is no longer first choice following Sesko’s arrival. He initially wanted to stay at the club and fight for his spot, but has now grudgingly accepted to depart, according to talkSPORT.
According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, there is ‘a very high likelihood’ that Hojlund will leave the club this summer, and AC Milan is reportedly close to arranging a loan deal for the 22-year-old player.
Amorim Urged to Intervene and Maintain Rasmus Hojlund

During his two-year tenure at Old Trafford, Hojlund scored 26 goals and provided six assists in 95 games. Despite his terrible performance in front of goal, Ruben Amorim has been requested to intercede and persuade him to stay.
Mikael Silvestre believes that if Hojlund leaves, United will be lacking up front. According to Hajper, “Marcus Rashford has gone, and there aren’t many strikers around; Joshua Zirkzee is a different type of striker who doesn’t make those runs in behind the defence.”
“He is a different type of player in various games and against specific opponents. No, you need competition and quality, so I wouldn’t rush to send Rasmus Hojlund out on loan. “Certainly not.”
Dimitar Berbatov also stated that Hojlund’s performances last year were “disappointing,” but feels competition for a starting spot will benefit him.
“I am delighted about Sesko joining United, but I am also concerned because Hojlund and Zirkzee performed well in their previous clubs.
“I observed how they moved, tormented defenders, and scored goals, but when they went to the Premier League, they had to adjust. And the statistics speak for themselves, correct? Three or four goals, as a striker, you will be disappointed with yourself.

“It was a challenging campaign for them, and they are going through a difficult phase right now, and with another striker joining, the competition will be fierce.
“When you buy a striker now, you start to wonder, ‘Will I play?'” Is my place at United? Do I still belong here? Should I start looking for a club? Or maybe you start thinking, ‘Alright, I enjoy the competition. Now I’ll show you. Now I’m going to fight for my position. Now, I’m going to bring the flames.
“So it’s a two-way situation. You can choose between the two options I provided. So let’s see what they bring to the table. You always want competition, but as a striker, because we believe we are unique, you must feel welcomed and wanted in the team by the coach and everyone else.
“Your motivation and self-esteem will both increase. There are several factors. It’s not easy, but it’s all in your head.
