Ruben Amorim immediately fires back at Gary Neville after ‘love in’ comments on Sky Sports

Following Gary Neville’s characterisation of the Manchester derby as a “love in” on commentary, Ruben Amorim has responded to Neville’s allegations.

After the dull and goalless match that took place at Old Trafford on Sunday, Neville was quite critical of both Manchester United and Manchester City because of their performance.

Due to the fact that the former captain of the Red Devils did not draw any punches on Sky Sports, the Premier League match lacked the intensity that it should have required.

After the final whistle blew, he made the following statement: “I believe the congratulations and love that I’m watching tells you that both teams feel happy with the level score of 0-0.”

“I think the best Manchester City teams, and the best Manchester United teams, would be very disappointed at the end of that game with the way in which they’ve approached it.”

This appears to be a Sunday afternoon, and they are about to go out to eat a roast dinner together at this very moment. When it comes to their life, they are handled down to the tiniest of details.

Neville continued by saying, “That game was so robotic, and it was quite symptomatic, actually, of a lot of games that we are watching these days.” My disappointment stems from the fact that it is not satisfactory.

“It’s a Manchester derby, and it should have more blood, thunder, risk and courage involved in playing the game and trying to win the game than that.”

During Amorim’s news conference following the match, he was addressed with questions regarding Neville’s remarks.

In addition, the Portuguese manager responded with a fiery retort, launching an attack against the former football player who is now a commentator.

“Yes, I do comprehend,” Amorim stated. It has been brought to my attention that Gary Neville is negative about everything!

Neville’s thoughts were mirrored by Roy Keane, who was a member of the panel that was present on Super Sunday.

As I look at the two teams, I can’t help but believe that they are undeniably sitting there and controlling possession. United is sitting in, as they typically do, and they will most likely appear to be a more dangerous goal threat. As a result of the fact that it is a derby game, there is no enthusiasm in the stadium,” he stated.

“I am aware that the players are required to put out something. This is a friendly derby, which is something I simply cannot believe. This is a nice friendly derby.

A number of years back, when City was not a particularly good team, I used to play against them. However, they would get into the game and turn it into a derby encounter. It’s just that… it doesn’t have that particular vibe to it right now.”
