Roy Keane had no doubts when naming the England player who could play for any team in world football

Roy Keane is undeterred in his assertion that there is a single player from England who would be able to start for any team in the world.

In the first of two World Cup qualifiers that will take place during the international break, England will play Albania on Friday. This will mark the beginning of Thomas Tuchel’s reign as England’s manager.

Before the two matches, the German manager announced his first England squad, which included a number of players who were unexpectedly not selected for the team, while other players who were unexpectedly selected made their return to the England squad.

Nevertheless, there is a top English star who did not make it into Tuchel’s first squad, and Sky Sports pundit Keane believes that this player is capable of starting for any team in the world.

Bukayo Saka, a superstar player for Arsenal, did not make it into the first England squad of 2025 because he is still sidelined with a hamstring injury. This is in contrast to other players, such as James Maddison and Jack Grealish, who were not selected because they have not been playing enough or have been performing particularly poorly recently.

Keane is convinced that the 23-year-old is one of the very best players in the world, and as a result, he is free to play for any club he chooses to play for when he is within his physical capabilities.

“Bukayo Saka would get in probably every team in the world, obviously when he’s at the top of his game,” Keane said on Stick to Football, which is brought to you by Sky Bet. “He’s a player who would get in.”

“We discuss [Jude] Bellingham and everything else that is going on… As a young boy, Saka has already played a significant amount of football, hasn’t he? When you are an attacking player, it is not easy to be the top man week after week at Arsenal because there are a lot of demands placed on you to be the best player.

Gary Neville, a former defender for England, echoed Keane’s thoughts and came to the conclusion that Saka is loved by all fans from all over the world.

“I think it’s really difficult to be universally popular, and I think he achieves that Saka,” said Neville in response.

My opinion is that Saka is someone who is well-liked by each and every fan. Regarding Saka, I don’t believe there are any fans in the country who are of the opinion that they are unsure about her. Both in terms of his personality and the way he plays, he is lovable.

There have been 43 times that Saka has played for England, and it is anticipated that he will return for the match against Andorra that will take place during the next international break in June.
