Erling Haaland, a striker for Manchester City, was seen complaining on the bench as a substitute after being substituted during their convincing 5-1 victory over Wolves, in which they had already scored four goals.

Erling Haaland, a four-goal hero for Manchester City, acted like a “spoiled brat,” according to Roy Keane, after being substituted off against Wolves.

The two have intensified their verbal sparring after Manchester United great Keane disparaged Haaland’s overall play in March, comparing it to that of a “League Two striker.” Following City’s 5-1 victory over Wolves on Saturday, the Norwegian striker retorted angrily, “I really don’t care much about that man.”

After manager Pep Guardiola substituted Haaland with eight minutes remaining, depriving him of the chance to score five goals, Keane took another jab at the player on Sunday. Haaland was seen complaining on the bench. “We saw Haaland yesterday being brought off, not too happy, behaving like a spoiled brat, but because they win the game and he scores goals, it’s almost forgotten about,” Keane told Sky Sports.

The former captain of United was drawing comparisons between Haaland’s actions and those of Mo Salah, a star player for Liverpool, who got into an argument with manager Jurgen Klopp last weekend after coming off the bench in their 2-2 draw with West Ham. “I think because results haven’t been going Liverpool’s way, that’s been highlighted,” Keane said.

“If you score four goals, that’s all right, isn’t it?” joked host Dave Jones. Keane, wearing a severe expression, retorted, “No, not really. No, it’s not.

The Irishman then gave Jones a long, hard look before Keane smiled and fellow pundit Daniel Sturridge started laughing. Although Haaland appeared to be upset about being substituted off on Saturday, Guardiola maintains that his lucky striker was actually upset with referee Anthony Taylor, even though Taylor gave City two penalties.

“He was annoyed with the referee,” Guardiola said after the game. “They occasionally push him with the long balls, pulling him in the process. There were moments when it wasn’t foul play. It frequently occurs in every game. I can assure you that he was extremely happy today, even though he was a little irritated by these actions.”

Haaland was “back to business,” the City manager continued, having netted five goals in his previous two contests. Guardiola, who missed two recent games without Haaland due to injury, praised the second and fourth goals as “unbelievable” but acknowledged that penalties are a given for him.

“He had a great 20 minutes against Nottingham Forest and today as well. We are not going to draw a game because winning the title on goal differential is not feasible. Arsenal has been playing in such a proficient and reliable manner.

“There are three games; hopefully, we take control of our own destiny by winning the first and second. With nine points, we will win. Arsenal is going to win the Premier League whether it’s seven, six, or three points.”
