Danny Rohl will not be the new Rangers head coach.
According to The Rangers Review, the German has notified the club that he no longer wishes to compete for the position of manager at Ibrox.
Rohl was interviewed last week and was keen to start work in time for this Saturday’s Scottish Premiership match against Dundee United.
However, he now believes that the timing is not right for him to continue with the process and has reluctantly notified Rangers that he no longer desires to be considered for the job.

Rohl’s departure leaves Kevin Muscat as the leading candidate to take over in Govan. His appointment may not be altogether straightforward, however.
Rangers would have to pay his current club, Shanghai Port, a seven-figure compensation fee to finalise the transaction.
Furthermore, Muscat is anticipated to lead Shanghai till they win the Chinese Super League title.
No agreement has been reached on personal conditions or with Shanghai to secure a move.
Steven Smith, Rangers’ under-19 head coach, has recently led first-team training alongside Brian Gilmour. Smith might still take command of this weekend’s encounter versus United.
