Real Reason Why Samuel Eto’o: Former Chelsea and Everton striker handed international ban by FIFA

FIFA has issued Samuel Eto’o a ban.
After it was determined that former Chelsea, Everton, and Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o had violated club disciplinary policies, he was given a six-month ban from Cameroon international matches.

Eto’o is the president of the Cameroonian football association, FECAFOOT, at the moment. Although the specifics of Eto’o’s offenses are still unknown, he has been punished for violating Articles 13 and 14. They have to do with “misconduct of players and officials” and “offensive behavior and violations of the principles of fair play,” respectively.

Eto’o will be prohibited from attending any games involving an international Cameroonian squad in addition to being forbidden to attend any events involving the senior men’s team of Cameroon. The suspension will take effect right now, but Eto’o has the right to challenge FIFA’s formal ruling.

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has banned Samuel Eto’o, the President of the Cameroonian Football Association (FECAFOOT), from attending matches involving Cameroon’s representative teams for a period of six months due to his violations of articles 13 (Offensive behavior and violations of the principles of fair play) and 14 (Misconduct of players and officials) of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, according to a statement released by FIFA.

The penalty was applied in relation to Brazil vs. Cameroon’s FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup round of 16 match, which took place in Bogotá, Colombia, on September 11, 2024. Mr. Eto’o is prohibited from visiting men’s and women’s FECAFOOT teams of all categories and age levels due to the ban imposed on him. The day the sanction takes effect, today, has been communicated to Mr. Eto’o.

During his playing career, Eto’o took home two Champions League trophies, one Serie A trophy, and three La Liga titles. He has two African Cup of Nations trophies under his belt and is Cameroon’s all-time top goal scorer with 56 goals from 118 caps.
