Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham may face a 12-match ban following his red card in the 1-1 draw against Osasuna.

In the 40th minute, the English midfielder was dismissed for reportedly using derogatory words against referee Jose Luis Munuera Montero.

The referee’s report states that Bellingham allegedly told the official, “F*** you.” According to La Liga’s rules, Bellingham might be suspended for four to twelve games for insulting a referee if this allegation is verified.

Carlo Ancelotti, the manager of Real Madrid, has defended Bellingham, claiming that a linguistic issue caused the misunderstanding.

Ancelotti thinks Bellingham’s statements, “F*** off, if this is a foul, the other is a penalty,” were misunderstood by the referee, which resulted in the unfair red card.

Kylian Mbappe’s goal in the 15th minute was cancelled out in the second half, and the event has clouded the game. Real Madrid played excellent defence and managed to salvage a draw even though they were down to ten men. Their attention will now turn to their matchup with Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League playoff on February 19.
