Real Madrid ready to make shock move for Premier League star after watching him several times in person

The Spanish giants are preparing to make a huge move before the window shuts.

Real Madrid is exploring a late move for a quality Premier League player who has been connected with several major teams this summer.

With only a few days until the start of the 2025/26 season, it’s safe to assume that many clubs have completed the majority of their intended business during the current transfer window.

However, several clubs still have deals to complete before the window closes on September 1, with some of Europe’s largest looking to bring in elite players in the coming weeks.

Real Madrid is just one of the clubs said to be ready to improve their roster as they attempt to challenge old rivals Barcelona for this season’s La Liga title. And a fresh report has indicated that they have their eyes on a top Premier League star.

Following their FA Community Shield penalty shootout victory over Premier League winners Liverpool, Crystal Palace has sparked interest from a number of clubs.

Shortly after the triumph, speculations appeared linking star defender Marc Guehi to their Community Shield opponents, with the Englishman rumoured to be eager to go to Anfield.

But it isn’t just Guehi who might depart Selhurst Park this summer; Real Madrid is investigating a deal for midfielder Adam Wharton before the transfer market closes.

According to The Daily Mail, the Spanish giants are keeping an eye on Wharton’s recent performances and have been a ‘constant presence’ in the stands at Selhurst Park.

However, it is reported that numerous English teams have been following the 21-year-old in recent games, with Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City all considering moves.

Tottenham Hotspur enquired about the possibility of purchasing Wharton this summer before the FA Cup final in May, with Palace apparently stating that a transfer fee of £100 million was expected.

Oliver Glasner hints about a possible exit amid Wharton and Guehi transfer links.
Following Palace’s victory in the Community Shield, manager Oliver Glasner confirmed that conversations regarding extending his contract, which expires next summer, have yet to take place.

“Again, at the moment it’s three weeks time to get the squad done, so Oliver Glasner’s contract is not important at the moment,” he told me.

When asked if what occurs in the closing weeks of the transfer window, including new signings and outgoings, would influence his choice to stay, he replied, “We’ll see.

“Marc and I have the same fate. Marc decides on his future. Of course, everyone wants Marc to sign another deal. It will be his decision.

“Everybody wants to keep this squad together since it performed so well. I’m not sure how often this happens here at Palace.

“We never know what will happen in this sometimes crazy transfer market.”
