The Champions League winners crushed Los Blancos 4-0.
Following a 4-0 thumping at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid was eliminated from the FIFA Club World Cup, and supporters turned against two Los Blancos players.
In the competition’s semi-final, Xabi Alonso’s team faced PSG; the winners will play Chelsea in the tournament’s final, which is being held in the United States.
However, the Spanish team’s match at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey swiftly deteriorated, falling behind 3-0 in just twenty-four minutes.
To stun Alonso’s team, Fabian Ruiz scored twice, followed by a goal from Ousmane Dembele.
Goncalo Ramos completed Real Madrid’s dreadful match as the end of the game drew near with yet another brilliant performance from the European champions, who naturally earned their title earlier this summer with a 5-0 thumping of Inter Milan.
On Sunday, PSG will play Chelsea in the FIFA Club World Cup final in an attempt to win.
Real Madrid had a terrible evening. They will now concentrate on winning the domestic championship from rivals Barcelona in the upcoming La Liga season and hoping to win more in the Champions League.
However, following their performance against PSG, Real supporters have singled out two players in particular.
Antonio Rudiger and Raul Asencio formed Alonso’s team’s central defensive tandem, but both players suffered through a challenging game against the recent Champions League winners, both of whom made mistakes that allowed PSG to score early goals.
Additionally, Real Madrid supporters expressed their dissatisfaction on social media, calling Rudiger and Asencio the team’s worst players in the competition and even suggested that they should be sold.
One wrote that “Rudiger and Asencio threw the game in less than 10 minutes.”
Another wrote: “Rudiger hates [Lamine] Yamal so much he gifted Dembele a goal to confirm his Ballon Dor.”
The following was written by a fan: “I will never forgive Asensio and Rudiger.”
One fan even went so far as to say: “If I could, I’d sell both Rudiger and Asencio. Not joking.
In a nutshell, one fan expressed their sentiments: “Our worst players in the Club World Cup.” Asencio and Rudiger need to feel embarrassed.
Rudiger played the entire game, but his challenging performance ended prematurely when Alonso replaced Asencio for Eder Militao at the 64-minute mark.
Asencio is a graduate of the Santiago Bernabeu club’s Academy, while Rudiger joined Real Madrid on a free transfer from Chelsea in 2022.
