Rasmus Hojlund: Man United Fans Make Same Point About Him After Fiorentina v Napoli

Manchester United fans have all reached the same conclusion when Rasmus Hojlund made his Napoli debut on Saturday night. The Danish international, like former Red Devils Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku, is looking to rebuild his career in Naples following a rough two-year spell at Old Trafford.

Hojlund was adamant on staying and fighting for his spot at his boyhood club, but the entrance of Benjamin Sesko at the Theatre of Dreams compelled him to make the loan move, which included an obligation to buy. However, following an outstanding return to Serie A, fans online have quickly voiced their opinions and made the same case.

Despite not playing a single minute of professional football this season, Hojlund was pushed in right away and got off to a flying start, slotting past another United graduate, David de Gea, to give his new club the lead within the first quarter of an hour with a calm finish into the far corner.

While the goal was definitely the high point of his performance, the 22-year-old appeared to be a significantly more complete player in general, participating more in build-up play and winning five of his seven ground duels.

In response to his performance, numerous United fans turned to social media to say that the Dane is about to join a lengthy list of players who have improved since leaving the club, with Ballon d’Or nominee McTominay serving as a prime example.

“Bro left us and instantly started scoring,” claimed one supporter, while another stated, “We provide no service to our strikers. This will continue to occur as long as we do not address the root cause. I’m happy for Hojlund; he has a lot of promise. A third said, “I told you guys, he isn’t the problem; United sold their striker for about €50 million and went and bought the same profile of a striker for €85 million,” while a fourth simply said, “We’re a curse bro.” Another stated that “Man United is the problem,” and a final fan concluded that “Man U can’t bring the best out of any player right now.”
