Ralf Rangnick sends Erik ten Hag message on Man Utd struggles – ‘It looks like I was right’

Ralf Rangnick said that his claim that Manchester United need “open heart surgery” has been proven true. This comes after their poor start to the season, when Erik ten Hag became head coach.

Rangnick, who is now the head coach of Austria, was completely honest about United’s problems before he left Old Trafford after a short stint in charge. He said it was easy to point out the problems at the club but that everyone needed to change.

He has said that the same problems still exist after more than two years, even though a lot of money has been spent on transfers and United’s football department is now run by the INEOS group.

United finished in a poor eighth place last season, with 60 points and a goal difference of -1. Ten Hag was able to keep his job after a good FA Cup win at Wembley against Manchester City, who played nearby.
But Ten Hag’s new team has lost two of its first three Premier League games this season. Rangnick said on TV over the weekend that what he said in the past has come true.

“I think I said that about two years ago, when the season was almost over.” Perhaps two or three weeks ago, the same question was asked of Erik ten Hag.

Then he told me I was right in what I thought. It looks like I was right. I don’t know how many players they’ve signed since then.

Rangnick said before he left Old Trafford in the summer of 2022, “You don’t even need glasses to see and figure out where the problems are.”Now the question is how do we solve them? Making small changes, or “cosmetic” changes, is not enough.

“This is what doctors call an operation of the open heart.” If everyone agrees that this needs to happen and wants to work together, then it makes sense, and I don’t think it will take two or three years to make those changes. In a year, this could happen.

Coming back to Premier League play, United will go to Southampton’s St. Mary’s on Saturday noon. But Ten Hag is already getting more criticism after a bad loss to Liverpool before the international break. This is just a few weeks after signing a new deal.
