William Gallas says Raheem Sterling only has himself to blame for never being able to play for Chelsea again because of weak efforts.
Maresca pushed Sterling out of the game.
‘didn’t perform’ at Blues, Gallas told him.
Winger ended up going on loan to Arsenal.
Sterling was quickly left off of the Chelsea team by new coach Enzo Maresca, who made it clear that he wanted to get rid of both of them. Ben Chilwell was also left off. The English winger’s shirt number was then given to someone else, and he ended up going on loan to Arsenal at the end of the summer transfer window because it was clear he wouldn’t get a chance at Stamford Bridge.
There have been complaints about how Chelsea treated players like Conor Gallagher and Trevoh Chalobah before they left in the summer. However, former Blues star Gallas thinks Sterling should “blame” himself for leaving because he didn’t do well in the two years he was at Chelsea from Manchester City.
“Players should sometimes take responsibility when things go wrong at their club.” The reason Raheem Sterling was at Chelsea was because he hadn’t played well in two years, Gallas told Gambling Zone. “He didn’t score or set up enough goals, and the new manager would have seen him and decided he doesn’t want him on his team. That’s not the manager’s fault.” We are all excited to see how he does at Arsenal. Sometimes, a player needs to feel loved by their boss in order to give their all. For me, that wasn’t something I needed from a boss. I had to make sure I played well enough that the boss couldn’t afford to bench me, even if he didn’t like me.
Sterling will hope to get his first taste of Premier League football in 2024–25 when Arsenal plays Tottenham in a north London match on 15 September. He missed the first few weeks of the season because of injury.
