The Hoops did manage to pull off a much-needed comeback victory over Leicester City on Saturday, defeating the relegation-threatened Foxes by three goals to one at the King Power Stadium.
That triumph snapped the R’s four-match losing record and was only their fourth win in 16 games since a 4-1 thrashing of Leicester just before Christmas.
In the 15 games leading up to this weekend’s result, QPR have only scored more than two goals in a game twice – at home to crisis team Sheffield Wednesday and, strangely, away to promotion-chasing Hull City.
Zan Celar is currently on loan, but despite his goal-scoring struggles, he isn’t someone many supporters would look to for help.
Zan Celar is experiencing a terrible time away from QPR.

After arriving in the summer of 2024, Zan Celar went to 2. He joined Bundesliga club Fortuna Dusseldorf last summer and has since had another difficult time.
The 27-year-old 17-cap Slovenia international striker was recently involved in a training ground spat in Germany after failing to score this season and the German second-tier club’s failure to terminate his loan in January.
According to FLW’s QPR Fan Pundit Louis Moir, Celar is unlikely to return to Loftus Road next season, and finding a suitor may be difficult.
Louis comments, “It’s definitely been a strange time for Zan Celar since joining us and, well, since leaving us.” His career just hasn’t started anew.
“I was excited when we first signed him. A fascinating signing. A prolific goal scorer in Europe. He might be able to reproduce that here, but he wasn’t up to the task.
“Seems to have continued where he is today, and it appears that he is having a shocking season.
“You may argue about the quality of the Swiss league, but he scored a lot of goals, and players don’t stop scoring goals once they’re used to it.

Could QPR fetch a reasonable price for Zan Celar this summer, or will they struggle to move him on? Please share your ideas below!
“He is still of a respectable age. I do not know.I’m sure there will be clubs in Europe that would be delighted to sign him in the summer, but he will not be at QPR.
“I would be startled. I merely think a club in Europe’s second tier might sign him. He might be lucky even in Europe’s first level, but in a smaller league.
“It’s an odd situation with Celar. How he hasn’t shown anything on this loan spell he’s having and you’d think he’s dropped down to a division that is much weaker than the Championship and is still not cutting it there.
“Maybe he’s just been unlucky, with a move to QPR followed by this move here, but it hasn’t worked for him. He just hasn’t settled, and he needs to move somewhere to get his career back on track, since the longer he waits, the less likely clubs will be interested in him.
“He, for sure, won’t be here at QPR next season.”
Zan Celar is scheduled to depart QPR this summer.

Celar, who came through the Maribor academy in Slovenia, was regarded as a promising teenager and was signed by Serie A club Roma.
He made only one first-team appearance for the Gallorossi and was loaned out from the Stadio Olimpico for the final two years of his three-year stay in Italy’s capital city, playing for Cittadella and then Cremonese with mixed results.
He left Italy in 2021 to join Lugano in the Swiss Super League, where he scored double figures in all three seasons, totaling 51 goals in 116 games across competitions.
Celar was loaned out in August after only scoring twice in 22 QPR outings last season, despite making two appearances in the Championship earlier this season.
Celar has failed in Italy, England, and Germany, with just Lugano reaping the advantages, and while he is slated to go in the summer, finding him a landing spot may be difficult.
