Queens Park Rangers’ first season under Julien Stephan has been mixed, and it looks that the West London team is now looking ahead to next season.
Rangers had threatened to make a run for the Championship play-offs for the first time since their most recent relegation from the Premier League 11 years ago, but they are now 12th, 10 points behind sixth-placed Southampton with only seven games remaining in the season.
Although their mathematical hopes of entering the top six remain, it would take a fairly surprising turn of circumstances between now and May 2nd for that to happen.
Nonetheless, a few names have stood out for their performances at Loftus Road under the Frenchman, namely the attacking and creative trio of Harvey Vale, Richard Kone, and Rumarn Burrell.
Amadou Mbengue, Jimmy Dunne, and Ronnie Edwards, who returned to the club on a permanent basis in January, have all been solid, despite the fact that the Hoops have conceded 61 goals in 39 games.
Only Sheffield Wednesday have a lower rate of concessions (79), so it’s no surprise Stephan is wanting to strengthen his goalkeeper’s union.
Rangers also appear to be interested in signing a prior transfer target, who has also been courted by divisional rivals West Bromwich Albion.
Queens Park Rangers resume their interest in FC Juarez’s goalkeeper Sebastian Jurado.

According to Mexican site Claro Sports, Rangers have resumed their interest in FC Juarez’s 28-year-old homegrown goalkeeper, Sebastian Jurado.
The Heroica Veracruz-born shot-stopper was previously on the R’s transfer radar in January, while West Brom also attempted to improve their goalkeeping situation before signing Max O’Leary from Bristol City on an initial short-term contract.
According to the most recent rumor, Rangers are the only one of the two Championship teams to have rekindled interest ahead of the forthcoming transfer window.
Jurado is said to be a strong candidate for a move to European football this summer, with his performances for Juarez allegedly catching the attention of people at the top of the Loftus Road hierarchy.
Jurado has played 32 games for Juarez this season but has only kept three clean sheets, so it may surprise Hoops supporters that his signature is still being pursued.
Sebastian Jurado isn’t the only possible goalkeeper acquisition on Queens Park Rangers’ radar.

Joe Walsh and Paul Nardi have only kept seven clean sheets for Rangers this season, and the latter is also scheduled to be out of contract on June 30th after agreeing a two-year agreement in 2024 with Belgian Pro League side KAA Gent.
Furthermore, Jurado is not the only goalie linked with a move to this section of the capital ahead of a crucial summer window.
Indeed, Football Insider has revealed that Rangers are competing with Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday for the free transfer of Dundee FC shot-stopper Jon McCracken.
As a result, it remains to be known who will be in net for W12 on a regular basis next season.
