“Put Martinelli on the bench and play this player on the left” – Mikel Arteta has been seriously warned to stop using Martinelli and play a £47m player on the wing for Arsenal – not Trossard and Sterling

Gabriel Martinelli has been identified as Arsenal’s “biggest problem” by Chelsea legend John Terry, who has made a bold assertion regarding the team’s Premier League title ambitions this season. Terry believes that Martinelli’s inconsistency and lack of decision-making in critical moments could ultimately result in the Gunners losing their opportunity to win the trophy, thereby enabling their rivals, such as Liverpool or Manchester City, to claim the league title.

During a football panel discussion, Terry was unreserved in his assessment of the Brazilian winger, who has been a critical member of Mikel Arteta’s team. “Martinelli is Arsenal’s greatest problem,” Terry declared. “Despite his pace and flair, his final product is inconsistent, and he frequently fails to deliver in critical situations.” There is no way to win the league with players who make critical errors or fail to appear in significant games.

Furthermore, Terry compared Martinelli to wingers from opposing teams, underscoring the disparity in their efficacy. “Observe players such as Mohamed Salah or Jack Grealish; they are composed, decisive, and achieve significant results when it matters.” Martinelli possesses aptitude; however, it is insufficient to secure titles in the absence of consistency. He is not at the level required by Arsenal to compete with the greatest.

Martinelli’s season has been marked by both successes and failures. Although his speed and directness render him a menace on the flanks, he has been criticized for his inability to capitalize on his opportunities and for occasionally being a defensive liability. Additionally, Terry expressed apprehension regarding Martinelli’s capacity to assume responsibility in high-pressure situations, which he believes could derailed Arsenal’s campaign.

Arsenal is presently engaged in a competitive battle for the top spot with Manchester City and Liverpool, and they have limited margin for error. Every wasted opportunity or poor decision could be costly in the face of such intense competition. Terry anticipates that Arsenal will fail to achieve success once more this season, primarily as a result of Martinelli’s incapacity to handle the demands of a title challenge.

Terry’s remarks will undoubtedly be painful for Arsenal supporters; however, they also underscore the strain on Martinelli to disprove his critics as the season advances..
