PSG open door for Gianluigi Donnarumma to complete Man Utd transfer after Luis Enrique makes brutal decision

The Italy and PSG custodian has been linked with a departure from the Ligue 1 club.

Luis Enrique, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, has taken a big choice on Gianluigi Donnarumma ahead of the UEFA Super Cup.

PSG, last season’s Champions League winners, will meet Tottenham, who defeated Manchester United in the Europa League final, on Wednesday.

Enrique has also withdrawn Donnarumma from PSG’s roster for their meeting in Italy.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who made a shocking social media post on Monday.

On X, Romano wrote: “Paris Saint-Germain have excluded Gigio Donnarumma from their UEFA Super Cup squad.”

“Donnarumma will not sign a new contract with PSG; there has been no agreement, and he will leave the club completely this summer or in 2026 as a free agent.

“Gigio’s camp feel it’s unfair situation for the GK.”

According to Romano, Donnarumma appears to be planning a summer departure.

In another post, he added: “Gigio Donnarumma will undoubtedly leave Paris Saint-Germain, most likely this or next summer.

“The relationship is entirely destroyed after the club decided to omit Gigio from the Super Cup squad.

“Understand Premier League is the most likely destination.”

Donnarumma, who is contracted to PSG until the summer of 2026, has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League, with Man United and Manchester City keeping tabs on his situation.

The Mirror reported over the weekend that the French champions were willing to accept a reduction cost of roughly £26 million for the Italian international.

According to ESPN, despite his link to city rivals AC Milan, Donnarumma is of interest to Inter Milan.

The 26-year-old was an integral part of PSG’s amazing campaign last season, which includes a Champions League victory, and has made 161 appearances for the club since joining in 2021.

The news of his exclusion may come as a surprise, given that he earlier said that his objective was to stay with the club.

Donnarumma told Romano in June that his objective is to stay at Paris Saint-Germain and sign a new contract. I don’t believe there will be any issues or problems.
