Nicky Crosby, the presenter of beIN Sports, clapped back with her own comments, stopping the Nigerian in his tracks as Mikel appeared to be adding fuel to the fire.

Mikel and former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke were talking about whether or not a fresh perspective in the Arsenal locker room could be crucial to the Gunners moving forward and winning some trophies during beIN Sports’ coverage of Sunday’s Premier League games.
One of the most successful African players in Premier League history, the former Chelsea holding midfielder, expressed his displeasure with Arteta’s expenditures and the lack of trophy after such huge investment. But host Crosby responded with a scathing jab at the recent Chelsea spending, saying:
“£700 million has been spent by him. Is six years’ worth of money a lot? In one season, you’ve spent a billion dollars. When you break it down, that comes to 34 players, 28 acquisitions, and the remaining players on loan for six seasons. In fact, when you break it down, it’s not that much.
Mikel shot back, claiming that the chaos was caused by Chelsea going through a transitional phase and having to bring in their own players due to the club’s frequent manager changes. Fans on the internet, however, weren’t having it and praised Crosby in response to the video.
“She’s just torched his argument in under 20 seconds,” said one fan, while another said, “She cooked him.”
One third commended the presenter for “exposing his agenda,” and a fourth said, “It’s been six years of transition after spending $1 billion.” He is not ashamed.
