Luis Enrique was accused of “public mockery” by a female TV host after an uncomfortable post-match interview following Saturday night’s Champions League final. Enrique had just guided Paris Saint-Germain to their first major European championship, defeating Inter Milan 5-0 in a spectacular performance at Munich’s Allianz Arena.
Enrique joined Pep Guardiola as the only manager to win a treble with two separate clubs, having done it with Barcelona in 2015. It was a historic night, with the biggest winning margin in the competition’s championship final. As a result, he can now confidently assert that he is among the greatest football managers.
However, in his post-match interview, the Spaniard rekindled a long-standing animosity with Movistar Plus journalist Susana Guasch that dates back over ten years to his time in Catalonia. Guasch has subsequently spoken out against his on-air comments in an attempt to prolong the storm in the teacup, which has, to put it mildly, not gone over well.
Luis Enrique Accused Of Public Mockery To Female Presenter
Susana Guasch has refused to see the funny side to his remarks

Because of her connections to Real Madrid and Espanyol, Enrique has long harbored animosity toward the journalist. Even though she believed he had forgotten, he still hasn’t forgotten the frequent arguments he had with her when he was manager of Barcelona. Enrique responded to her harsh criticism of him after Barca was eliminated from the Champions League by Atletico Madrid in 2016 by saying, “Your analysis is quite superficial and gratuitous.” It’s not related to what a professional does.”
The comment was directed directly at Guasch. Enrique ended the conversation when she followed up by saying, “I’ll say it again, you talk about whatever you want, and I’ll answer whatever I feel like.” He used the occasion to reignite the feud on Saturday night, declaring in the introduction of his Movistar Plus interview (see below):
“I’m here for Monica Marchante, you all know it, not much for you, Alvaro. Even less for you, Susana.”
“Hey, it goes by so quickly. How long has it been? “was all the journalist could respond with, and she has spent recent days trying to downplay the animosity to just one incident, labelling his comments as” public mocking. But as Madrid-Barcelona.com stated: “Luis Enrique finds her intolerable due to her years of professionalism, not a single incident.
“The Asturian coach had to pretend to be impartial, but she wasn’t, while dealing with Guasch and her pro-Madrid narrative. That is unforgivable for a culer like him.
“Maybe he was disappointed that in Munich Susana Guasch didn’t pull out her Real Madrid scarf.”
Enrique also had to cope with criticism of Anti-Barcelona while he was Spain’s manager from 2018 to 2019. According to the Daily Mail, she stated in an interview on Radioestadio Noche: “I hadn’t seen him in nine years. He didn’t like my work, and I can see that he hasn’t forgotten it.
“Luis Enrique understood what he was doing; he was a public joke and the talk of the social media world. I’m surprised that he still gives me this kind of attention. He didn’t look at me, and I didn’t find anything amusing about what he did.
