Premier League legend permanently banned from £100,000-a-year golf course after ‘drunken incident’

Due to the fact that things went too far during an evening of drinking, a former Premier League star has been permanently banned from playing at a top golf course from that point forward.

Once a player’s career in football is over, they are able to truly unwind and let loose, basking in the benefits of the enormous pay checks that they will have earned throughout their time on the field of play.

While some people choose to learn a new sport, such as padel tennis or golf, others choose to go out partying, get drunk, and make headlines, and still others choose to do all of the aforementioned things.

On the other hand, one former Premier League star went a little bit too far on one occasion, and as a result of his drinking habits, he was expelled from one of the most prestigious golf clubs in the entirety of England.

Jimmy Bullard, a former football player who played for Wigan, Fulham, and Hull City, admitted that his membership at Sunningdale Golf Club in Berkshire was revoked after a night of drinking. This revelation came more than eleven years after Bullard retired from the professional football league.

One of the most prestigious clubs in the country, the gold club requires its members to pay an astounding £92,000 to become full members, in addition to an additional annual fee of £9,500. This makes it one of the most expensive clubs in the country.

On the other hand, Bullard was kicked out of the club after he attempted to use a bottle of Peroni as the first tee.

According to the Daily Mail, he had told the legendary snooker player Stephen Hendry, “I am not permitted to go again.”

When I had a few drinks, I allowed myself to get carried away. When I was on the first tee, I got a Peroni and then I clipped a ball off of it. Since it is obvious that this is not the appropriate action to take, please accept my apologies.

“Please accept my apologies if there are any members of Sunningdale who are watching.” It is very important to me to return.

The Englishman is well-known for being a bit of a character both on and off the pitch, which has made him a well-liked figure among fans wherever he went.

As a result of a career that began with him achieving promotion to the English top flight with Wigan and continued with stints at both Fulham and Hull, Bullard has enjoyed a tremendously successful career in television. He was the host of the popular Sky Sports series Soccer AM until it was cancelled in 2023.

During this time period, the 46-year-old individual has developed a strong interest in golf and frequently posts videos of himself playing the sport on his Instagram account.
