Carlo Ancelotti will have a former Premier League coach as his assistant with the Seleção.
Carlo Ancelotti has hired a former Premier League manager as one of his coaches for the Brazilian national team.
Ancelotti, 66, became the first non-Brazilian to lead the national team after leaving Real Madrid as head coach at the end of the 2024/25 season.
The Italian led the five-time World Cup winners to a 0-0 stalemate against Ecuador in his first game in charge before guiding Brazil to a 1-0 victory over Paraguay.
The Brazil post is a fresh challenge and unfamiliar territory for the 66-year-old. Despite managing great teams like as Juventus, AC Milan, and Chelsea, he has never been a national team head coach, however he did spend three years as Italy’s assistant coach from 1992 to 1995.
And Ancelotti, who is under contract with Brazil until the summer of 2026, has one simple goal in mind: to win the FIFA World Cup in 2026.

The Seleção boasts world-class players, including Barcelona’s Raphinha and Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior.
Ancelotti is also surrounded by tried and true coaches, although he is missing his regular right-hand man and son Davide, who is currently Botafogo’s head coach.
Paul Clement, a former Premier League manager and Ancelotti’s assistant at Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich, will once again work with the Italian.
Clement, 53, has been without a coaching job since 2023, when he left his position as Everton’s assistant manager under Frank Lampard.
Footage has emerged on social media of Clement putting the Brazilian team through its paces ahead of the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Bolivia.
Fans were eager to respond online.
