But even then, it is less likely to occur presently.”

Kasper Hogh has drawn additional interest, but primarily from championship rivals.

Despite the events of the past week, Championship rivals Ipswich Town and Wrexham have expressed interest in Hogh, according to an exclusive report from Football League World.

If the 25-year-old’s destination in the next days is the second tier, Norwich should be much more confident in completing the transfer.

While Ipswich and Wrexham are now in contention for Premier League promotion, Norwich is an exciting project under Philippe Clement, and if Downes is correct about the pull power the Belgian manager may offer, the Canaries may be successful in their pursuit.

Hogh has been a goal-scoring machine in Norway over the last year, and while some neutrals may believe that a transfer to the Championship is undervaluing him, Norwich will not be concerned.
