Following taunts regarding Phil Foden’s mother during Sunday night’s Manchester Derby, Pep Guardiola has blasted Manchester United supporters for their “lack of class”. The match between the Red Devils and Manchester City at Old Trafford ended in a somewhat dull 0-0 draw since the teams were unable to separate themselves.
The cries that were directed at Foden by the United supporters were actually one of the main discussion points following the game. The City star didn’t have a great afternoon and didn’t contribute much on the pitch. Guardiola, who was looking for a winner, pulled him in the second half as he battled to get going.
However, given the chanting he was hearing, it is scarcely unexpected that he was unable to focus completely. The United supporters could be heard yelling at the Englishman, “Your mum is a fat s**g,” during the Old Trafford game. His management has now spoken out about the incident and hasn’t held back.
Guardiola Wasn’t Happy With United Fans
He said they should be ashamed

After the game, Guardiola talked about a lot of topics, including the outcome. In addition, he discussed the shouts directed at his player and was unreserved in his criticism of the United fans’ behaviour. He stated in a post-match interview, which was quoted by the Express:
“No class. But, you know, it’s the people, not United. In world football, we are all so visible on the screen—managers, owners, and football players in particular. To be honest, I don’t understand the mindset of those involved with Phil’s mother; they should feel ashamed for their lack of moral character and class.”
This season has been difficult for the midfielder, who has performed considerably below his typical level. His position in the City lineup has been questioned on multiple occasions as a result of his inability to duplicate his career-best campaign from the previous campaign.
However, the team has had a difficult season overall, and he is by no means the only player at Manchester City to have had difficulties all season. Under Guardiola, the team has not performed at the level they typically do.
