People say that we are officially out of the title race, but I don’t blame him. I blame Arteta for starting him again last night. We have solutions on the bench, but Arteta is refusing to use them simply because they are young. He is forgetting that Lamine Yamal is 16 years old and that he is doing great for his club as well. Declan Rice has confirmed the identity of the ONE Arsenal fighter who put an end to their pursuit of the title yesterday. There is neither Trossard nor Merino.
As a result of their draw with Manchester United, Arsenal suffered their third consecutive loss of points in the league campaign. While both teams were making an effort to consolidate their position in the top four, neither of them was able to find the killer touch when they needed it.
During the first half, Arsenal had complete control of the game and possession of the ball, but they failed to capitalise on opportunities presented by Mikel Merino and Martin Odegaard. Bruno Fernandes scored a goal directly from a free kick just before halftime, which was a punishment for the lack of clinical finishing that had been displayed.
Despite the fact that David Raya was criticised for his part in the goal, he made up for the mistake by making two saves, the first of which was incredible, to prevent Noussair Mazraoui and Joshua Zirkzee from scoring. Declan Rice scored a goal from outside the box to tie the score for the Gunners, which was a reward for his efforts.
The following is a breakdown of how football.london rated the performances of the players for Arsenal:
David Raya – As we have come to anticipate from David Raya, he displayed some excellent distribution despite the pressure that was present from the Spaniard. On the other hand, all of his hard work was undone when he allowed Bruno Fernandes to take a free kick by positioning himself in such a way that allowed him to dip the ball over the wall and into the net. 8.
The manner in which Jurrien Timber attacks the right flank has undergone a significant transformation as of late, and this change was carried over into the match that took place at Old Trafford from the previous day. During the game, he would play the role of a creator for Rice, driving the ball into the box and then cutting it back to the edge. 8.
William Saliba remained composed while in possession of the ball and did a good job of dealing with the threat posed by Joshua Zirkzee throughout the game. 7
Brilliant last-ditch challenge on Alejandro Garnacho to prevent another goalscoring opportunity, and then towards the end, as he got a touch to prevent a Hojlund chance in the box. Both of these challenges were made by Gabriel Magalhaes. 8.
Riccardo Calafiori – Riccardo Calafiori is not as influential as he was in the Netherlands; with the opportunity to get forward frequently, he does not have a significant impact. At the beginning of the second period, Myles Lewis-Skelly took his place as the replacement. 6.
It was Thomas Partey. There were some excellent moments from the midfielder, who effectively advanced the play, as we have come to anticipate their performance. During the second period, a tactical change was made, and Kieran Tierney took his place as the replacement player. 6.
It is Declan Rice. Constant energy and runs for players such as Partey and Odegaard, and he came close to finding himself in the box on a couple of occasions but was unable to do so because he did not execute the play correctly. On the other hand, he would score the equaliser for the Gunners by hanging outside the box and hitting a first-time shot into the bottom left corner of the goal. He then made a challenge that prevented Hojlund from scoring in the final ten minutes of the game, which was a goal-preventing challenge. 9)
Chances were presented to the captain, both for himself and to create opportunities for others; however, Onana was able to easily catch his first shot. Martin Odegaard led the team in scoring. During the course of the game, he was able to see a significant amount of the ball and even played the pass to Timber that led to the equaliser. 7
Within the first half, Ethan Nwaneri was responsible for two separate instances of giving the ball away, which resulted in two counterattacks by Manchester United. After that, he took a position that was offside and prevented a promising attack from coming down the right side of the field. Even though he had some good times, he was probably going through the most difficult of his life so far. 6.
There was a fantastic opportunity for Leandro Trossard to shoot a shot towards the top right corner of the far right corner, but he was unable to hit the target. It was the cynical foul that Fernandes committed that gave him the opportunity to score. Midway through the second half, there was an opportunity to score, but the ball was dragged wide. Later on in the game, there was another opportunity, but it was on the opposite side of the goal. This was a wasteful use of the day’s resources. 6.
It is Mikel Merino. Within the first ten minutes of the game, he had a fantastic opportunity to fire a shot into the corner of the net; however, he failed to put much pressure on the shot, and it went wide. As the game was coming to a close, Arsenal almost lost a goal because he was caught inside their own half. 5.
