Pedro Neto has won over more Chelsea fans after a video of his reaction to Tottenham fans mocking him went viral on social media following the Blues’ 1-0 Premier League victory on Saturday evening. Following his £51.4 million move from Wolves last summer, the Portuguese winger took some time to settle in.
This season, however, he has shown to be one of Enzo Maresca’s most dependable wingers at a team that already has remarkable depth in that position. In ten league appearances, he has two goals and two assists, and he started at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend, as expected.
Although he did not directly contribute to the game’s solitary goal, which was scored after Moises Caicedo and Joao Pedro combined in the first half, Neto’s antics from the bench drew attention, amusing the home fans and adding to his burgeoning notoriety among Chelsea fans.
Pedro Neto goes viral when Tottenham fans attempt to taunt him.

Reacting to the referee’s late decision, Wesley Fofana and Neto were spotted standing in the dugout, protesting the call. As Tottenham fans behind them yelled for them to sit down, Neto spun around, smiled, and stuck his tongue out at them. Watch the video below.
The Chelsea-Tottenham fixture always has an extra edge, and you only have to look back to the not-so-distant past of Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte to see how fierce it can be. Neto’s antics have just solidified his place as a new Chelsea fan favourite. “I’m crying, this is the funniest video,” one supporter posted on X, while another added:
“Offer him a new contract IMMEDIATELY.”

A third wrote, “Cemented his legacy as a Chelsea legend.” However, supporters at the home end were significantly less amused by full-time, as loud boos rang around the stadium. Micky van de Ven and Djed Spence were observed blanking manager Thomas Frank before rushing down the tunnel.
Despite sitting fourth in the table after ten games, Tottenham fans are already criticizing a playing style that has provided little in attack thus far. The setback to Chelsea was also their third home loss of the season, and a small number of fans online are already questioning Frank’s ability to lead them to redemption after finishing 17th last season under Ange Postecoglou.
