Marcus Rashford “should have left” Manchester United, according to Alan Shearer, in order to turn around his struggling career.
Rashford is having trouble at United.
Does not make the England team for Euro 2024
Shearer exhorts them to proceed.
Rashford has had difficulties at United from the start of the last campaign. Rashford scored just seven goals in the previous season and has not yet contributed a goal this year, after scoring 17 goals in the Premier League in 2022–2023. The 26-year-old was dropped out of England’s Euro 2024 team due to his dismal record.
Under interim manager Lee Carsley, Rashford may be aiming to rejoin the national team, but he was left out of his opening squad, and Shearer thinks he needs to find a new home away from Old Trafford in order to succeed.
“In his current form, I don’t see Marcus Rashford reviving his England career,” Shearer said to Betfair. I’m not familiar with his training philosophy or mindset, but training and attitude correction are the only ways to get back on track.
But from an outsider’s perspective, I believe he ought to have left Manchester United to rekindle his career, since he’s become quite stagnant there for whatever reason, and it hasn’t worked for him in a long time. How much Marcus wants to return to hitting 30 goals a season is a question only he can answer.”On September 14, United’s next game is against Southampton. They will next take on Barnsley to begin their Carabao Cup campaign.
