Official: Manchester United confirm return of Leny Yoro to training ahead of PL clash vs. Palace

Official: Leny Yoro has returned to Manchester United’s training ahead of their Premier League matchup against Crystal Palace.

Rasmus Hojlund has returned to training for Manchester United ahead of the team’s matchup with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park this coming weekend.

Since suffering a hamstring injury in July, Hojlund has not played a single minute in his second season at United.

The striker was forced to watch as his team’s four first top-flight games of the 2024–25 season saw two victories and the same number of losses.

Additionally, he was not available for selection by Erik ten Hag as United thrashed Barnsley 7-0 on Tuesday night at Old Trafford, a League One team.

Hojlund suffered the injury when United lost to Arsenal 2-1 in the preseason. That time, the Dane opened the score before being substituted due to a hamstring problem a few minutes later.

He would be out for six weeks as he completed his recovery, it was said.

Mason Mount, a midfielder who was also sidelined for several weeks due to a hamstring issue, was reported to have resumed training a few days ago. Now that the Mount news has been confirmed, United has also stated that Hojlund trained at Carrington alongside his teammates.

According to United, “Our photographers captured Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund working hard to prove they are ready to return to action.” Both men trained with the group at Carrington.

“With our free-flowing team scoring 10 goals in our last two games, our new no. 9 will be itching to get back after making progress with his rehabilitation.”

Ten Hag started Bruno Fernandes and Mount, United’s most progressed players, in the first two games against Fulham and Brighton & Hove Albion, respectively, in Hojlund’s absence.

Joshua Zirkzee, a recent addition, was then used by the Dutchman in the number nine spot. Zirkzee missed a lot of easy opportunities against Southampton and Liverpool, but he did show flashes of brilliance when it came to holding up the ball and directing play.

Ten Hag put Marcus Rashford in charge of leading the line for United against Barnsley in the Carabao Cup, and the England international scored two goals.
