Nottingham Forest have fired manager Ange Postecoglou following their 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea, the club has announced.
The City Ground club sacked the Australian strategist of his duties less than six weeks after he took over on September 9, replacing Nuno Espirito Santo.
Postecoglou failed to win any of his first eight games at Forest, drawing two and losing six, and earned only one point from his five Premier League appearances.
Forest confirmed the news in a statement issued following the full-time whistle at the City Ground, saying:
“Nottingham Forest Football Club can declare that, following a string of poor results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been dismissed of his duties as head coach, effective immediately.
“The Club will make no further comment at this time.”
