Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis BANNED by FA after misconduct charge

The announcement comes after Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo was also given a three-match suspension for his behavior during Forest’s match against Brighton, which ended in a tie.

Evangelos Marinakis, the owner of Nottingham Forest, was charged with misbehavior during the match against Fulham that took place a month ago. As a result of this, the Football Association has given a stadium suspension that will continue for five matches.

An additional three-match suspension was handed down to Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo for his behavior during his team’s 2-2 draw with Brighton a month ago. The news comes after the suspension was handed out.

Following Fulham’s 1-0 victory at City Ground on September 28, Marinakis was accused of “improper behavior in the tunnel.” This victory was achieved as a result of a penalty kick taken by Raul Jimenez, which was granted after referee Josh Smith was instructed by video assistant referees to review the pitchside monitor.

Following the fall of Anthony Elanga and Taiwo Awoniyi, Forest’s anger was further exacerbated when they were refused what they saw to be two penalties of their own.

With regard to Marinakis, the Football Association issued a statement that stated as follows: “It was alleged that his behavior around the tunnel area after the final whistle was improper.” Although he contested the allegations, the independent Regulatory Commission ruled that they were true, and as a result, he was suspended from playing at the stadium or venue for a period of five matches.

“The independent Regulatory Commission’s written reasons for its decisions will be published in due course.”

On the same day that Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White and Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler were both awarded red cards, manager Nuno was given a three-match suspension for his behavior during the passionate 2-2 draw against Brighton last month. The ban comes on the same day that Nuno was given a three-match suspension for his behavior.

The following is an excerpt from a statement released by the Football Association: “It was alleged that the head coach of Nottingham Forest acted in an improper manner and/or used abusive and/or insulting words towards a match official.”

After receiving a red card, the Nottingham Forest midfielder is said to have behaved in an inappropriate manner and/or spoken in a manner that was abusive and/or derogatory to the fourth official. The manager of Brighton & Hove Albion was accused of acting in an inappropriate manner, according to the allegations.

“Fabian Hurzeler, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Nuno Espirito Santo have all confessed to the allegations that have been brought against them. The head coach of Nottingham Forest was given a two-match touchline suspension and a punishment of £55,000 by the independent Regulatory Commission. This action activated a further one-match touchline ban that had been deferred. Additionally, the midfielder for Nottingham Forest was given a one-match suspension and a fine of £20,000.

“The Brighton & Hove Albion manager was fined £8,000 after accepting the standard penalty.”
