Neymar has named four Premier League clubs he would sign for as Santos comeback hits new low

The Brazilian returned to his childhood club earlier this year, but things haven’t gone as smoothly as the ex-Barca and PSG player would have liked.

Neymar has already disclosed the four Premier League clubs he admires, as his return to Santos has not gone as expected.

The Brazilian returned to his hometown club in January after a disappointing tenure at Al Hilal in Saudi Arabia, where he made only seven appearances after joining from Paris Saint-Germain in 2023.

As expected, his return to Brazilian football was hailed with great expectation, but Neymar has struggled with injuries throughout his career, missing five consecutive league games after suffering a hamstring injury in April.

Things went from bad to worse for the 33-year-old on Sunday, when he appeared in Santos’ 6-0 loss to Vasco da Gama. Santos is now only two points above the relegation zone in Serie A.

Neymar left the field in tears and gave an angry interview shortly after his performance, which he described as “incredibly ashamed of”.

Speaking to the Brazilian press via ge, Neymar stated, “I’m really upset with our game. Fans have the freedom to protest in a variety of methods, as long as they do not resort to violence. Cursing and insulting individuals today, however, is quite acceptable.

“I am quite ashamed; I have never been through anything like this in my life. I am crying because I am angry about everything. Unfortunately, I cannot provide assistance in every way. “Today was terrible; that is the reality.”

The Brazil international continued to bash his teammates before declaring, “To sum it up: it was shit”.

Regardless of how the rest of his career unfolds, Neymar has made his mark in European football during his time with Barcelona and PSG, but regrettably for Premier League supporters, despite multiple links during his best years, he is now unlikely to play in England’s top flight.

During his time at Barcelona in 2017, Neymar spoke with The Sun about the four English clubs he admires.

“The Premier League is a championship that amazes me,” Neymar told reporters.

“I enjoy the playing style and teams. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll try my hand at it.

“I admire Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Liverpool—these are the teams that are always fighting.

“Then you have high-level coaches like Mourinho and Guardiola. “These are coaches with whom any player would want to work.”
