Neymar had zero doubts when naming his favourite England player despite him not receiving a cap since 2021

Neymar did not hesitate when he was asked to name his favourite player from England; however, the star’s career has taken a significant turn for the better ever since the Brazilian predicted that he would be great.

Back in the year 2020, prior to a crucial Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund, the superstar player who was playing for Paris Saint-Germain at the time took it upon himself to heap praise on a young opponent.

Before the game, Jadon Sancho, who was only 19 years old at the time, had already made 19 appearances in the league and had already scored 12 goals and dished out 13 assists. This was part of his ongoing rise since leaving England.

“Jadon is a player that I really like to watch play and he is a great player with plenty of quality,” the Brazilian soccer player said.

Borussia Dortmund is a team that possesses a large number of players of high calibre. Sancho is the name of a special player who is relatively new to the team but is already excelling in his position.

He is a highly skilled player. Everyone is aware of how challenging things are going to be for us here in Dortmund. He continued by saying, “We are hoping to play a good game in order to get a good result coming back to Paris.”

During an interview in 2018, Sancho admitted that Neymar has always been his idol. This may be the reason why the Brazilian player followed Neymar so closely during the early stages of his career.

“Neymar is my favourite player and someone I look up to immensely. According to Sancho, who was quoted in Bild, “He plays his opponents dizzy at the highest pace, and he is extremely dangerous in front of the goal.”

“He is nothing like the rest. In other words, he makes people laugh out loud. The fact that he is simply being himself and expressing himself is something that I adore.

Sancho has only been capped by England 23 times, despite the fact that he has shown a great deal of promise. His most recent appearance was against Andorra in 2021, during which he played and contributed two assists.

When he finally made his return to Premier League football in 2021, the 25-year-old player signed with Manchester United. This marked the beginning of the downward trajectory that would define his career.

In his 58 Premier League appearances, Sancho has only managed to score nine goals and provide six assists during his time at Old Trafford. His performance has been nothing short of disastrous.

In spite of Chelsea having a “obligation to buy” after his season-long loan, the winger is still under contract with the club until the summer of 2026, and it is possible that he will return to United.

Given that Sancho has not been able to make the impact that was anticipated at Stamford Bridge, the London club is reportedly contemplating the possibility of paying a fee in order to get out of the agreement.
