Neymar breaks silence on PSG winning the Champions League for the first time as Lionel Messi reaction speaks volumes

The French team won their first European Cup after destroying Inter Milan 5-0.

Neymar has spoken out about his former team’s triumph after Paris Saint-Germain defeated Inter Milan 5-0 to win their first Champions League title.

The thumping at the Allianz Arena in Munich gave PSG the victory against the Italian team.

After twelve minutes, Achraf Hakimi gave PSG the lead, and shortly after, teenager Desire Doue scored his first goal of the night.

Doue scored his second goal after halftime, and the Parisians secured their first Champions League title in a spectacular fashion with goals from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and substitute Senny Mayulu, who added goals four and five, respectively.

After losing to Manchester City in the 2023 Champions League final, this is Inter’s second Champions League final loss in as many years.

However, after ten years of intense investment, PSG’s first victory in Europe’s top club championship is highly anticipated.

As part of that, Neymar was acquired from Barcelona in 2017 for €222 million, which is still the highest transfer fee in the world, when the French team fulfilled the buy-out provision in the Brazilian’s contract at Camp Nou.

Neymar won five Ligue 1 titles in Paris and scored 118 goals in 173 games, but he was unable to win the Champions League.

Neymar and PSG came the closest to winning the Champions League trophy in 2020 when the French team advanced to the final but fell to Bayern Munich 1-0.

The Brazilian left PSG in 2023 to join the Saudi Pro League’s Al-Hilal, but he returned to his hometown of Santos earlier this year.

However, he shared a photo of PSG celebrating on his Instagram story with the caption, “Parabens,” which translates to “congratulations” in Portuguese, and a number of applause emojis, demonstrating that the 33-year-old is still friendly with his former side.

Lionel Messi, another former PSG player, hasn’t yet recognized his team’s accomplishment, though.

After leaving Barcelona, Messi spent two seasons with PSG from 2021 to 2023, where he won two Ligue 1 titles and scored 32 goals in 75 games before joining MLS team Inter Miami, where he is still today.

Additionally, the 37-year-old chose to post about Inter Miami’s 5-1 MLS victory over Columbus Crew rather than PSG’s victory.

In the victory, Messi scored twice and provided two assists, while Luis Suarez, another former Barcelona player, also scored.

According to Messi, “Another victory at home.”
