After Manning’s dismissal was revealed over the weekend, former Norwich player Chris Sutton expressed his sympathies for him.
The Sky Sports analyst hinted at his broader critiques of the club’s present management when he stated that the manager was not the main cause of the team’s performance this season.
Sutton wrote, “I’m so sorry for Liam Manning,” through X.
“A really good man.
“Basically taking the blame for not getting the most out of the mediocre new hires… The main cause of Norwich City’s current predicament is not Manning.
Ben Knapper, the director of Sporting, has been criticized for his involvement in Norwich’s challenging start to the season, especially in relation to player acquisition.
Gary O’Neil’s method
Gary O’Neil, a former player, has been approached by Norwich about taking over as manager after Manning.

In the face of irate fans, he has taken ownership of the situation and stated his intention to mend fences with the fans in the future.
“Unfortunately, given the recent run of results and performances, we have been left with no choice other than to make a change at this stage,” Knapper wrote on the club’s official website, adding that “we have tried absolutely everything possible to work through this incredibly challenging period.”

“We completely comprehend our supporters’ annoyance and criticism at this point.
