Newcastle to ‘break wage structure’ to keep Alexander Isak as staggering new contract proposed

There have been reports that Newcastle are planning to “break their wage structure” in order to reach an agreement with star striker Alexander Isak regarding a new contract.

In the summer of 2022, Isak made the move from Real Sociedad to the Magpies, where he was acquired for a fee of 63 million pounds.

Since then, he has grown into one of the best strikers in the world, and he has scored 23 goals across all competitions so far this season.

One of those goals was scored during the Carabao Cup final victory over Liverpool on Sunday, which resulted in a 2-1 victory. This victory ensured that Eddie Howe’s team will compete in the Europa League the following season.

It will continue to be the goal to make sure that football matches from the Champions League are played in Tyneside.

Despite the fact that Arsenal, Liverpool, and Barcelona have all expressed interest in Isak, this could still prove to be a deciding factor in whether or not he stays with the club.

According to a number of reports, the asking price for him is well over one hundred million pounds, which raises the question of whether or not those clubs have the financial means to acquire his services.

Newcastle, on the other hand, is already making efforts to divert attention away from one of their most important players.

According to GiveMeSport, the Magpies have come to the conclusion that Isak “warrants” a contract that will allow him to earn more than £200,000 per week through his employment.

With a weekly salary of 120,000 pounds, he is currently one of the highest earners at the club.

Spotrac reports that the Swedish striker is the only player on the team who earns more money than the captain, Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton, and Anthony Gordon all combined.

Following Newcastle’s victory in the Carabao Cup, he gave an interview to Sky Sports in which he stated, “It’s amazing, honestly. In my opinion, this is only the beginning of things.

“We are all aware of how significant it is, as well as how long it has been since it has been awarded a trophy. It is simply incredible that we are able to provide that for the fans.

It was a little bit frustrating for me to get through the first half because I didn’t really have much to work on. However, I kept telling myself, as well as my teammates and the staff, that my opportunity would come at some point in the future.

“I believe that when you go such a long time without receiving a trophy, people may start to think about it in the back of their minds. Now that we have triumphed over this challenge, we can look forward to the bright days that lie ahead of us.
