After seeing who was given the opportunity to hoist the Carabao Cup trophy before a number of their players at Wembley Stadium, fans of Newcastle were left in a state of hysterical laughter.

A 2-1 victory over Liverpool was achieved by the Magpies thanks to goals scored by Dan Burn and Alexander Isak. There was a consolation goal scored by Federico Chiesa for the Reds in the second half of the injury time.

Not only is this the first trophy that Newcastle has won since the Fairs Cup in 1969, but it is also the first trophy that Eddie Howe has ever won in his managerial career, excluding other league titles.

Despite the fact that they have now already secured automatic qualification for the Europa League for the following season, they still have the opportunity to qualify for the Champions League based on their finishing position in the English top flight.

Bruno Guimaraes, the captain of the team, was the one who helped lift the Carabao Cup trophy. He also led his team up the Wembley steps to receive their medals for winning the competition.

On the other hand, spectators observed that the trophy had already been taken by another individual before the majority of the players.

Immediately following the lifting of the trophy by Guimaraes, club captain Jamaal Lascelles, and Kieran Trippier, the trophy was made available to individuals such as Isak, Joelinton, and Dan Burn to keep in their possession.

Jason Tindall, the assistant manager of Newcastle, was standing next to Eddie Howe and other members of the club’s coaching staff when it was handed to him. Tindall was the recipient of the information.

Following that, Tindall presented the trophy to other members of Newcastle’s squad who were sitting on his side of the Wembley stand. After that, the trophy was returned to the opposite side of the stand.

One fan took to Twitter to express their reaction to the events that transpired, writing, “It was amazing to see Jason Tindall lifting the trophy before some of the players.”

A second individual commented: “Jason Tindall the fourth person affiliated to Newcastle lifting the trophy.”

Others, however, were taken aback by the fact that he was not earlier in the queue. One of them wrote, “Fully expect Jason Tindall to be the one that lifts the trophy first.”

Additionally, a fourth participant said: “If there’s any justice in this world, Jason Tindall will be the one to lift the trophy.”

Due to the fact that Tindall frequently stands on the touchline alongside Howe during games, he is the subject of a joke that is constantly being told by football fans among themselves.

There was even a video that surfaced showing the assistant manager attempting to shake hands with Wolves manager Gary O’Neil before Howe during the 2022–2023 basketball season.

A Twitter account with the name “Jason Tindall desperate to be the centre of attention” went viral and amassed more than 50,000 followers.

The following is Howe’s response to the question of whether or not his assistant will become a “Internet sensation” in the year 2023: “We’re both very active on the sidelines, so I’ve encouraged Jason to be that way.”

“When we first started out in management, we were very much a partnership, and we make it a point to do everything in our power to assist the players.

“I believe that we are positioned together on the front there, and at the conclusion of the game, he naturally makes his way over because he is typically to my left [meaning that he is closest to the manager of the different team]. His performance for me this year has been outstanding, and he is a wonderful person.

Tindall had been Howe’s teammate for a significant amount of time at Bournemouth, and he was already a member of the coaching staff at the Cherries when Howe became the youngest manager in the history of the Football League in 2009.

He followed Howe to Burnley and then to Bournemouth for a second stint before taking over as Cherries manager after Howe resigned from his position in 2020 due to the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
