Newcastle beat Real Madrid and Barcelona to signing of La Liga wonderkid in major coup

According to shocking reports, Newcastle United is on the verge of surpassing Real Madrid and Barcelona in terms of the signing of a La Liga wonderkid. This would be a major coup for Newcastle United.

Following the closing of the transfer window in January, Newcastle are already turning their attention to the summer transfer window.

And the Magpies are getting close to concluding a deal for a La Liga starlet, who has garnered interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona, two of the most powerful clubs in Spain.
According to The Daily Mail, Newcastle is on the verge of surpassing the two teams from La Liga in terms of the signing of the talented Antonio Cordero from Malaga.

According to the report, Cordero and his representatives have now attended a meeting with Paul Mitchell, who is the sporting director, following their visit to Tyneside.

The Premier League club is optimistic about the possibility of concluding a deal with the 18-year-old player, who will be a free agent in the summer. They are working towards reaching a pre-contract agreement with the player.

In recent days, there has been a significant amount of progress made.

It is anticipated that he will join the St. James’ Park outfit on July 1 if the terms are agreed upon.

Despite the fact that Real and Barcelona had shown interest in Cordero, it appears that neither of them will be able to acquire the promising winger.

The month of November was Cordero’s 18th birthday, and by that time, he had already scored three of his four goals in Spain’s second tier during the current season.

Additionally, he started his team’s match against Levante, which ended in a 1-1 draw, which was the 24th league appearance he has made this season.

After acquiring Georgian forward Vakhtang Salia from Dinamo Tbilisi, Newcastle chief Mitchell is looking to “add a layer of talent beneath” the first-team level. This comes after Mitchell has already acquired Salia.

When Salia reaches the age of 18 in August, he will become a member of the club.

Baran Yildiz, a 20-year-old Turkish midfielder, is also expected to sign with the club from Genclerbirligi.

According to the report, Cordero, Salia, and Yildiz will most likely be loaned out during their first season at Newcastle. Jack Ross, who is in charge of strategic partnerships, will be tasked with finding clubs that are suitable applicants for these players.

The excitement, however, is centred on Cordero, who is capable of playing on both flanks despite having spent the majority of his career playing on the left wing.
