The administrators in charge of finding a new buyer for Sheffield Wednesday insist they will not rush to choose a preferred bidder, citing the club’s ‘excellent’ future prospects.
The only saving grace for supporters has been the possibility of a takeover, with a preferred bidder expected to be revealed by December 5th.

Sheffield Wednesday administrators will take the time to locate the right buyer.
However, in a recent update posted on the club’s website, administrator Kris Wigfield affirmed that the process of naming a preferred bidder is still ongoing.
He explained that establishing the initial deadline was intended to ‘generate momentum’, which Wigfield claimed they had achieved.
Crucially, he stated that conversations with numerous bidders “remain active” as they seek to maximize returns to creditors and “secure the right long-term owner for Sheffield Wednesday.”
Wigfield indicated that the degree of interest is ‘very promising’ for the Owls’ future, and that they will continue to speak with possible buyers in order to find the ideal successor to Chansiri.
Sheffield Wednesday fans are prepared to wait for the right owner to come in.
To begin, it is excellent that the administration keep the supporters informed about the issue on a frequent basis, as this reduces guesswork and assures they are aware of the current state of play.
Unfortunately, considering Wednesday’s status on the pitch, there is no real reason to hasten to find a new owner as long as they can continue to operate financially in the meanwhile.
They know they’ll be playing in League One next season, so they don’t need a new owner to assault the January transfer window as they try to stay up.

Clearly, the sole issue is the larger picture, and supporters will understand that something like this cannot be rushed through.
Instead, the administrators will be in talks to identify the appropriate buyer and the right transaction that will benefit the club both now and in the future.
So, while it is disappointing that they did not receive a name, the wording in the update provides lots of optimism that the gloomy days of Wednesday are behind as they await the arrival of their new owners.
Henrik Pedersen’s side return to action on Saturday, when they travel to Ewood Park to face Blackburn Rovers.
