New Alexander Isak transfer bombshell that nobody saw coming drops and it changes everything

The Newcastle United player has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool this summer.

Liverpool have received a huge boost in their pursuit of Newcastle United attacker Alexander Isak.

Just weeks after winning the Premier League title in his first season as Liverpool manager, Arne Slot has been busy recruiting major players for his squad the following season.

Liverpool’s first acquisition was right-back Jeremie Frimpong, who replaced Trent Alexander-Arnold. Days later, former Bayer Leverkusen teammates Florian Wirtz joined in a Premier League record deal.

According to reports, Liverpool will now focus on signing Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, who is anticipated to join in the coming days, as well as Crystal Palace centre back Marc Guehi.

However, it appears that Liverpool will not stop there, as a recent source suggests that they are prepared to significantly increase their pursuit of top transfer target Isak.

Before the transfer window opened earlier this month, it was widely believed that Liverpool will look for a new striker to replace Darwin Nunez, who is due to leave the club this summer.

Despite ties to Joao Pedro, Hugo Ekitike, and Julian Alvarez, Newcastle sensation Isak is clearly Liverpool’s dream acquisition, despite the fact that a deal is expected to be difficult and costly.

After spending nearly £200 million on Frimpong, Wirtz, and the upcoming signing of Kerkez, many believed Liverpool could no longer afford to buy Isak without violating profit and sustainability regulations.

However, according to a fresh claim from The Times, this is not the case, as Liverpool is still well inside the Premier League’s restrictions, with the funds to test Newcastle’s resolve.

And Newcastle are fully aware of this, according to the report, since they are anxious that Liverpool may make a bid for their star striker as early as July.

In anticipation of this, the Magpies are apparently eager to start talks on a new contract that would allow him to earn more than the £120,000 weekly wage contained in his present term, making him the club’s highest earner.

Bruno Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon are currently Newcastle United’s highest-paid players, with the Brazilian midfielder earning £160,000 per week.

However, with Newcastle still bound by PSR, any offer from the Magpies would fall short of Liverpool’s salary offer for the Swedish international.
