Nathan Collins, the captain of Brentford, has praised Jordan Henderson’s impact, calling the former Liverpool captain a reassuring presence and a team leader amid a time of change at the Gtech Community Stadium.
In the early months of head coach Keith Andrews’ tenure, Henderson, who joined the Bees in the summer, has already made an impression on and off the pitch.
Collins Gains from Henderson’s Guidance

Collins has acknowledged that the pressure of becoming Brentford’s captain has been lessened by having such a seasoned leader on his side.
“Having him is fantastic,” Collins remarked. Because of his enormous personality and the fact that everyone is familiar with him from earlier, it relieves some of my strain. He converses with the referee so that I may focus a little more on my game. He provides us with a level of quality on the field that we need. He has greatly aided me.
The Republic of Ireland player emphasised Henderson’s capacity to elevate the team when it counts most. “The way he is on the pitch on a Saturday is unbelievable,” he continued. It’s different when he turns it on. It benefits the team as a whole, and we all look at it. I believe we’re all at it when he is on a Saturday.
As Brentford adjusts to life without former manager Thomas Frank and seasoned campaigners like Christian Norgaard, that influence has been crucial. Collins maintains that the team has accepted its own “bubble” and is concentrated on progress and cohesion rather than moping over the departures.
“We get people saying we’re in trouble every season,” the centre-back said. From the chefs to the leadership, however, we have terrific individuals here who are all working towards the same goal. Both the players and the spectators have faith in us, and we will continue to play our games with integrity.
Collins is feeling more confident that the team can contend because of Brentford’s tenacity, Henderson’s leadership, and the departure of players like Bryan Mbeumo, Yoane Wissa, and Mark Flekken.
“Those 1% daily improvements are what matter. He affirmed, “Who knows where we can go if we keep doing that.”
