Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold discover Liverpool’s transfer stance

With Arne Slot’s arrival, Liverpool must make a number of decisions regarding the fate of several of its important players, and it looks that club executives have already made their selections.

This summer, Liverpool will decide whether to sell THREE of its main players, including Mo Salah.

Salah’s future at Anfield is unknown, as is that of colleagues Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk. The three have a contract that expires in the summer, so this is their last chance to get paid a substantial amount for his services.

However, Liverpool is not eager to profit from any of the three. Mirror Football is aware that none of Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, or Salah will be going up for sale anytime soon.

Richard Hughes, the club’s new sporting director, recently discussed the circumstances surrounding the trio. While acknowledging that negotiations around potential new contracts are confidential, he reaffirmed the players’ unwavering commitment to Liverpool.

“I don’t think it would be fair for me to talk about contractual situations,” he remarked during his opening press conference. These are confidential issues between the players and the club.

“We’re very confident that the players will give their all to the cause next season, and that’s the only situation that worries Arne and me.”

Van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold, and Salah have all made significant inroads about their near futures. The Egyptian striker expressed his goal to win championships in his first season playing for Arne Slot the following season.

After the 2023–24 season, Salah posted on Twitter, saying, “We know that trophies are what count and we will do everything possible to make that happen next season.” “We will fight like hell because our fans deserve it.”

Alexander-Arnold, who graduated from the Academy, expressed a similar opinion. “It was a good season, built on last season, got better as a team, challenged for the title, took it far and we improved,” the defender was quoted as saying by Liverpool’s official website.

“Any improvement indicates that the season is going well. Consider the good things, go on, and maybe see you next season.”

Van Dijk, the captain and Dutch defender, reiterated his dedication to the Reds for the upcoming season but did not say if he would be staying longer. “I still have one year left on my [Liverpool] contract,” he stated. As the club captain, I have expressed my enthusiasm for the next season and my support for the new coach.

Of the three, Salah is most likely to be the first to return to Liverpool for the preseason. Following this summer’s international matches with Egypt, he was given an extended vacation.

Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold, however, won’t be coming back anytime soon. Both of them are still competing in Euro 2024. Following the advancement of both England and the Netherlands, they will face off in the semifinals. On Wednesday night, that game will take place in Dortmund.
