Man United beat Liverpool 0–3; the Reds have now won all three of their games under new manager Arne Slot. They put on another amazing show at Old Trafford, beating their fierce foes.
A star player for Liverpool called Mo Salah said he wants to be known as “one of the best players” who ever played for the team. He wants to be ranked with Steven Gerrard as one of the best players ever.
Since arriving at Anfield for £34 million from Roma in 2017, the Egyptian has been a surprise. He quickly became the club’s star player, scoring a lot of goals to help them win a string of titles, including the Champions League in 2019, the Premier League in 2020, and the FA Cup in 2022.
At age 32, the winger has scored 213 goals in 351 games and is considered one of the best players in Premier League history. However, Salah hopes that Liverpool fans will also hold a special place in their hearts for him.
Salah talked about his impact at the club on the Men in Blazers show when asked how he wanted fans to remember him.
“I think I want them to always remember that I give everything to the club,” he said. “I value that a lot. The people just make you remember how much you care about the club.
‘That’s one of the best Liverpool players ever,’ I also say. It’s up to them if they want to say the best… but at least one of the best. It’s okay for them to say one of the top two. It’s fine between Stevie and me.
Salah has been great for Liverpool, but it will be hard for him to beat Steven Gerrard in the hearts of Liverpool fans after the legendary midfielder’s brave plays at Anfield and his part in the club’s famous comeback to win the Champions League in 2005.
Gerrard also won the UEFA Cup once, the FA Cup twice, and the League Cup three times. He scored 185 goals in 710 games for Liverpool.
Salah is off to a great start to the season. He scored a goal in each of his team’s first two games, against Ipswich and Brentford.
He will want to beat out players like Erling Haaland for the top goal award. He won it three times while at Liverpool, in 2017–18, 2018–19, and 2021–22.
