Mo Salah makes Virgil van Dijk and journalist laugh live on TV with contract comment

Following Liverpool’s victory over West Ham, Mohamed Salah expressed his joking hope that Virgil van Dijk would follow suit and make a commitment to the club for the rest of his career.

At Anfield, Van Dijk was the hero as he headed in the game-winning goal in the last minute to not only clinch a 2-1 victory but also bring Arne Slot’s team closer to winning the Premier League championship.

If Arsenal suffers a defeat at the hands of Ipswich Town and Liverpool triumphs over Leicester on the following Sunday, then Salah and the Dutchman will be able to claim their second league title.

This victory comes after it was announced on Friday that Salah had signed a new deal with the Reds that was for a period of two years.

talkSPORT has been informed that the Liverpool star has agreed to a contract that includes bonuses as well as a weekly salary of £400,000.

As a way to celebrate his new contract, the Egyptian provided Luis Diaz with a magnificent trivela assist, which allowed Diaz to open the scoring against the Hammers.

The game was tied as a result of an own goal scored by Andy Robertson in the 86th minute, but Van Dijk scored the game-winning goal from a corner kick three minutes later.

The Liverpool captain is expected to sign a new two-year deal with the club, similar to what Salah did. talkSPORT has received information on this development.

Salah was questioned about his new contract during an interview with Sky Sports that took place after the match. Van Dijk was also there.

“I’m glad that we managed to do it before the season ends, and hopefully Virgil will be next,” Salah said in response to the other player’s statement.

A journalist named Patrick Davison and a member of his crew both laughed at the statement, and Salah responded by putting his palm up and saying, “hopefully.”

Salah followed by saying, “Look, he is free to do whatever he wants, but I would do anything to see him again the following year.”

Davison then edged his way closer Van Dijk in an attempt to obtain another update.

When asked about his feelings, the defender stated, “I can tell you that I am very proud to captain my 100th game for Liverpool.”

“It was a day filled with emotion since it was for our Hillsborough anniversary, and that was the primary emphasis of the day. Acquire three points, and you will move one step closer to realising all of our ambitions.

After Liverpool’s loss in the round of 16 of the Champions League a month ago, fans were concerned when images emerged showing Van Dijk having a conversation with the owner of Paris Saint-Germain, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, and the sports director of the club, Luis Campos.

In spite of this, he expressed his enthusiasm for the Merseyside club by saying, “Everyone knows how much I love this club and let’s see what the next week will look like.” This statement was made after the match that took place on Sunday.

In the past several years, Salah and Van Dijk have consistently been considered to be the most essential players for Liverpool.

During the 2018–19 season, they won the club’s sixth Champions League, as well as the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup. The following season, they were able to accomplish the holy grail of winning Liverpool’s first ever Premier League championship.
